WordPress iPhone App

November 27th, 2008

Thought I would try out the WordPress iPhone app for my next post. So far so good, the only thing I had to do was enable the XML-RPC protocol in the WordPress Write options in the blog’s settings. I did that easily through iPhone’s Safari internet browser to keep everything for this post on the iPhone.

I would have to say the app is easier to use than going through Safari, which is what it is meant for and it does it well. Setup was easy, I only had to type in the URL of the blog, my username and password and of course make sure XML-RPC was enabled, as stated above. After that I was ready to post.

So if you are a regular WordPress poster and have an iPhone, this app is for you. Especially if you are on the go a lot and easily find topics to write about. Head on over to the app store and check it out!

For more information check out http://iphone.wordpress.org.

By the way, hyperlinks have to be written in HTML. Everything written in the app is done in plain text. There is a way to place photos or images in a post too. Just get an image in your iPhone library and use the Photos option when writing a new post and the app will upload the image and place it in paragraph tags like the image below (which is of course a screen shot of this post).

Let’s Get Something Started

November 26th, 2008

Hello world! I’d just like to say welcome to the GTWebs Blog. I’d first off like to say that I finally was fed up with waiting for time to design my own theme. I have decided that I need to get my voice out there first and when I finally find time to make said design, I will do so. Until then, I will be posting to this blog about technology and computers.

I like to test things and then give my personal opinion about them. The purpose of this blog is to be an outlet for my criticism’s as well as yours by way of comments. I hope to gain additional knowledge as well as spread as much knowledge as I possibly can. I believe it is important for everybody to work together, even if you don’t know with whom you are working.

Until next time, welcome to the GTWebs Blog of Computers and Technology!
